1. Overview & Local Privacy Philosophy
Welcome to Walletera, developed by Nick Forge Solutions ("we", "us", or "our"). Your privacy is paramount. Walletera is designed with a local-first data architecture. This means your financial records, budget plans, transaction details, and custom categories reside directly on your personal Android device.
We do not operate remote servers to hoard or analyze your personal financial records. This Privacy Policy outlines what minimal data is processed, how third-party SDKs (such as Google AdMob and Google Play Billing) function within the app, and how your privacy rights are protected.
3. Voice Recognition & Audio Permissions
Microphone Permission (RECORD_AUDIO)
Walletera provides an optional voice input feature allowing you to dictate expense amounts and descriptions hands-free.
- How it works: When you activate the microphone button, the app requests the
android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO permission to launch Android’s native SpeechRecognizer service (e.g., Google Speech Services).
- Zero Audio Retention: Walletera does not record, store, collect, or transmit your voice clips or audio data to any server managed by Walletera. Audio is converted to text locally on your device or directly via your selected system speech service.
- Control: Voice recognition is strictly user-initiated. You can grant or revoke microphone access at any time in your Android device settings.
4. Advertising & Third-Party Services
Walletera integrates selected third-party SDKs to deliver advertisements and support app development:
4.1 Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
- Purpose: The free version of Walletera displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google LLC).
- Data Collected by AdMob: Google AdMob may automatically collect non-personal data, such as your Google Advertising ID (GAID), IP address, device telemetry, and coarse location data to serve relevant or non-personalized ads.
- Ad Personalization & Privacy Choices: You can manage ad personalization or reset your Advertising ID via your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads). For EU users, consent preferences can be managed via the in-app consent dialogue.
- Google’s Privacy Policy: For more details on how Google processes ad data, please review Google's Privacy & Terms Policy.
- Ad-Free Experience: Subscribing to a Walletera Premium plan removes all third-party advertisements.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
- Payment Processing: Walletera offers optional Premium subscription plans (e.g., Basic Premium and Full Premium). All payment processing, billing, and subscription management are conducted securely through the Google Play Billing Library (Google Play Store).
- No Payment Data Storage: We do not collect, view, store, or process your credit card, debit card, bank account, or payment credentials. All transactions are securely handled by Google.
- Subscription Management: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing cycle. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your Google Play account settings.
6. Local Notifications & Reminders
- Features: Walletera offers customizable local reminders for daily expense logging, recurring payment alerts, and weekly/monthly budget summaries.
- On-Device Execution: These notifications are generated and scheduled 100% locally on your device using Android system utilities (
WorkManager, AlarmManager, and POST_NOTIFICATIONS). No remote notification servers or external push messaging services are used.
7. Data Storage, Security & Local Exports
- App Security & PIN Lock: Walletera provides an optional passcode/PIN lock feature to secure local app access on your device.
- Data Export & Backup: You have full control to export your complete financial database to binary format (
.proto) or spreadsheet format (.csv). Exported files are saved locally on your device or to user-selected storage destinations.
- Data Retention & Responsibility: Because all financial data is stored locally, uninstalling the app or clearing app storage will permanently remove your records unless you have created a local backup. You are responsible for safeguarding your exported backup files.
8. Children’s Privacy
Walletera is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at nickforgesolutions@gmail.com so we can take appropriate steps.
9. EU GDPR Compliance & Rights
For users located in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), the Processing of data complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Data Controller: Nick Forge Solutions is the Data Controller, reachable at nickforgesolutions@gmail.com.
- Legal Basis: Processing for support is based on contract performance or steps prior to contract. Ad serving and diagnostic telemetry are based on consent or legitimate interests in operating a stable application.
- Your GDPR Rights:
- Right to Access & Portability: You can export your data at any time via the built-in CSV/Proto export feature.
- Right to Deletion / Erasure: You can erase all app data immediately by uninstalling the application or clearing storage in Android settings.
- Right to Restrict or Object: You may object to personalized advertising by updating your ad settings or subscribing to Premium.
- Supervisory Authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (e.g., ANSPDCP in Romania at www.dataprotection.ro).
10. US Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
Under US state privacy laws (including California CCPA/CPRA):
- We do not sell your personal financial data or email address.
- Non-personal advertising identifiers (GAID) collected by third-party ad networks (AdMob) may be classified as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out by enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in your Android device settings or upgrading to Walletera Premium.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in app functionality, legal requirements, or third-party service updates. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document indicates when changes were made. Continued use of Walletera constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
